Inside a QR code

A QR code is not always a link: it may contain Wi-Fi details, a contact, a message, or a misleading web address. Read its content without visiting it.

Local processing: the QR image and its contents are not sent to Rusadix Tools.

These are fictional sample payloads; the buttons do not scan a photograph or visit any website.

What a QR code actually reveals

A QR code encodes information, not a trust guarantee. It may store a URL, network details, contact information, an event, or plain text. This tool decodes an image and explains the detected content type without performing suggested actions.

A confusing domain is not necessarily a dangerous one

For example, in https://account.example@offer.example the real destination is offer.example, not account.example. The @ symbol may confuse readers. Internationalized domains, IP addresses, and HTTP also deserve attention. These are reasons to look more closely, not proof of fraud.

What this tool can and cannot verify

The initial version analyzes only the content encoded in the QR. It does not open links, follow redirects, query threat databases, or authenticate domain owners. HTTPS links can still be fraudulent. No warnings must never be read as 'safe link'.

Why the image stays in your browser

A QR image can reveal a home Wi-Fi network, phone number, address, or ticket data. A locally hosted library decodes it without uploading QR contents to a server. The image is discarded after reading; no history is retained.

Frequently asked questions

Is scanning a QR here safe?

Decoding does not open the encoded destination. However, no tool offers absolute safety guarantees. Do not publicly share access codes, tickets or private information.

Why can't it read my QR?

It may be blurred, obscured, cropped, too small or in an unsupported image format. Try a clearer photo. Only one code is interpreted per image.

What happens to a Wi-Fi password?

The password is not displayed in the summary. The complete raw content is collapsed behind a disclosure control; it is never sent to Rusadix for analysis.
