Why “Cover” is better than only pixelating sensitive data
Pixelation and blur can be enough when you only want to reduce visual identification, but they are not the safest option for an ID number, account number, signature or confidential information. In those cases, use an opaque block and review the final copy before sharing it.
What changes in the copy
To reduce the risk of hidden data remaining inside the file, the tool creates a new PDF from the visible representation of each page. This means text is no longer selectable and links, forms, comments, layers, attachments and other internal features of the original PDF are not preserved. This loss is intentional.
The tool does not decide what information you should hide or whether you have the right to share a document. Always review the result and share only the information that is necessary.
Frequently asked questions
Does Rusadix Tools receive my PDF?
No. In this tool, the PDF file you select is processed on your device. Rusadix Tools does not receive or store a copy of the document. Like any website, the page still needs the technical data required to be served; see the privacy policy for details.
Can the black block be removed later?
The created copy does not store the block as a separate layer over the original text. The page is rebuilt with the covering already integrated.
Can I still select text in the copy?
No. This tool prioritizes reducing the risk of original text remaining hidden in the PDF. The final copy therefore turns each page into new visual content.
Can I recover the original PDF after redacting data?
While this page remains open, you can use “Save unchanged original” to save an identical copy of the PDF you loaded. If you close or reload the page and have also deleted the original from your device, the protected copy cannot reconstruct it.
