View image metadata

Read embedded metadata without assuming it is true and validate Content Credentials (C2PA) when present. The Provenance / AI section separates cryptographic integrity, signer trust, AI declarations and unsigned clues.

Features

⌕

Expanded EXIF/TIFF

Reads many more camera, software, date, exposure, lens, orientation and GPS tags.

⌖

XMP, IPTC and ICC

Inspects editing, authorship, description, keyword, color-profile and other fields when present.

□

C2PA / provenance

Validates Content Credentials (C2PA) in the browser and separates integrity, signer trust and declared AI use. It also shows unsigned clues without presenting them as proof.

What information may appear

An image file may contain EXIF/TIFF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, ICC, Photoshop resources, MakerNotes, thumbnails and other blocks. Rusadix shows what the file contains, but those values may be modified, inherited or false and do not by themselves prove which device or software actually created the image.

Scope of this version

This viewer inspects JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, AVIF, JPEG XL and GIF using a specialized metadata reader. When C2PA is present it attempts local validation; unsigned metadata is treated only as clues. It cannot independently read proprietary invisible watermarks such as SynthID. Verified cleaning is limited to static JPEG/JPG, PNG and WebP.

Frequently asked questions

Does viewing metadata modify the photo?

No. The file is read in memory and no new copy is saved.

Can I see the GPS location?

Yes, when the file contains readable EXIF GPS tags.

Can I remove the metadata here?

Yes. After analysis you can create a copy rebuilt from the pixels. Rusadix analyzes that copy again and only offers it as clean when none of the known metadata containers it checks are detected.

Which formats are supported?

JPEG/JPG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, AVIF, JPEG XL and GIF for inspection, up to 40 MB. Verified cleaning is available for static JPEG/JPG, PNG and WebP.

Can it detect whether an image comes from ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or another AI?

Yes when the file still contains an identifiable signal. Rusadix validates Content Credentials (C2PA) and can show the declared provider or generator, digital source type, and integrity and trust status. It also recognizes some unsigned clues from Google AI/Gemini, Grok/xAI, OpenAI, Firefly, Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI and others, but marks them as unverified. If no signal remains, it does not attribute the image to a specific provider and does not conclude that the image is human-made.

Does a camera or software name prove it was really used?

No. A value such as Make = SONY, Model = CYBERSHOT or Software = Photoshop means that value is written inside the file metadata. It may be correct, but it can also have been edited, copied, inherited from another file or be false. Rusadix Tools shows it as unverified embedded metadata, not as proof of the image's real origin.
